Brigitta Blumer is a yoga therapist and received her training at LMU for Yoga Therapy Rx. She was born and raised in Switzerland where she used to work as a teacher and associate professor at the school of education. Never ceasing to learn, she completed a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Fuller Theological Seminary. While continuing her studies with Dr. Daniel J. Siegel, she started to practice yoga and did a 200 hour yoga teacher training.
Recently she trains in iRest®/Yoga Nidra and is a Teacher-in-Training Level II informed by teachings of Richard Miller and the Integrative Restoration Institute.
The possibility to practice yoga in order to bring ease and well-being in people’s lives has been a dream come true. Watching students doing their daily practice, feeling less or no pain, changing their life style is heartwarming and deeply connecting. Yoga Therapy utilizes the wisdom as it is written in the ancient Indic texts as well as the newest findings in Western medicine and science.
Her primary areas of interest are:
- Musculoskeletal Problems (back, knees, shoulders, arthritis)
- Autoimmune Spectrum (fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis)
- For Women (menstrual cramps, PMS, menopause)
- Anxiety and Depression
- PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
