Curative Yoga offers our unique asana series which targets your overall physical, emotional and spiritual health. We could tell you about the countless benefits, but we think you might like to hear it from some of our students who have experienced changes, from the subtle to the dramatic.
“Good morning Naader, I just want to take a minute to thank you for the ongoing support to me and my family. Your words and encouragement have made a difference in our family. My girls go about their day with hope, faith and confidence because you share your love, wisdom and faith with them. I hear my girls quoting your words through out the day, especially when the going gets tough. There are no words to express how you have impacted our lives, including my hard head husband. See you soon.” – Maria G. 07/09/2015
“I love Yoga Kingdom Sanctuary! Last year I was going through probably the most trying time of my life, and the classes at YKS helped me to get stronger not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally. I have been taking yoga classes on and off over the years, but it’s only at YKS that I was finally able to assuage my desire for spiritual awakening in addition to getting a good workout. Naader has been inspiring, and Art has been challenging with his classes. I feel relaxed, content, and simply amazing after their classes!!” – Melari Su
“YKS has become my home for yoga for a number of reasons – most of which can be summed up with Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Every time I walk into my 6 a.m. class, the doors are open, the scents are delicious, the music greets me, and the mood is peaceful. The studio is run efficiently and honors its class schedule. Naader offers years of experience and approaches his classes with an open acceptance and consideration for each student’s abilities. He offers food for thought throughout the class and teaches us to BREATH. Other studios I have visited have lacked the emphasis on breath. I am now a firm believer that the breath is what has made my practice a wonderful, fulfilling experience – one which takes me through the rest of my day in a peaceful manner. I find that the “breath” is called on throughout my day and it is lovely to use it as I need it. The other teachers are wonderful too. Jeffrey brings light and joy and acceptance, Art demonstrates calm experience, Carolina is gracious and easy to relate with. I know there are other teachers, but I have not taken their classes. A huge and grateful heart that YKS is where I was introduced to yoga and the place I travel to in the wee hours from Sierra Madre.” – Liz Lambdin
“I had been searching for three months when I found YKS. I had wanted more than just your basic yoga training, I was looking for a spiritual journey that would compliment the yoga as well and I found it here and beyond. The unconditional love, compassion and concern for every person that walks through Naader’s doors is apparent in his whole being. It didn’t matter if you were 75, 25, race, religion, or gender, he treated everyone the same. From the breathing class, how to meditate, chakra balancing to learning how to use your true voice in class what I got here was 100 greater than what I ever could of imagined. Being here helped make me a better person in every way and I will be forever changed because of Naader. Whatever your story or reason is why you want to do it, all I can simply say is do it.. You will never look back.” – April, Calabasas, CA
“Dear Naader, I just want to thank you so much for taking the time to write such meaningful and enlightening newsletters. Even though we now live in Orange County and cannot attend your amazing classes I still grow and heal by reading your newsletters. I pray that you and your family are happy and well. I hope to one day find a Yoga home in Huntington Beach as wonderful as yours…I have been searching…no luck so far. Take care and know that both Anthony and I appreciate your newsletters and truly miss Yoga Kingdom Sanctuary!” – Gina Post-Franco
“The owner of Yoga Kingdom, Naader, is the heart of this place, who teaches us not only how to stretch our muscles but also our minds and attitudes. I am very grateful of my teacher, Naader. When I visited Yoga Kingdom about nine years ago, I was deeply depressed and anxious. For as long as I can remember I have had migraine headaches, back pain, and anxiety problems. At the time, these ailments were treated with a lot of narcotic medications. Because of Naader’s yoga I no longer have migraines, back pain, or anxiety. The amount of medication I now take is minimal. I have tried many different yoga places that included varying yoga movements. Out of all of them, I can say with confidence that Naader’s Yoga Kingdom Sanctuary has definitely benefited me the most. Most yoga classes consist of various movements and stretching and plenty of sweat. Naader’s class, however, is like being in church listening to a soul touching sermon while you are doing some stretches. At the end of class, you will feel a mysterious sense of peace and joy. As no one can describe the taste of an apple unless you taste it yourself, you must experience Naader’s yoga yourself to receive this incredible benefit. Naader constantly reminds us how important it is to smile. After years of taking his classes, I find myself smiling so easily instead of my usual serious face. Yoga Kingdom is my home away from home where I can be myself. I receive a heartfelt greeting that relaxes me even before starting the yoga.” – Kim Mahaffey
“Beloved Friend ~ In my sixth year as a yoga charya, I find you and all I learned from you still in my heart and in the background of my mind as I teach. Thank you for your wisdom and friendship. My son, Logan, and I were certified to teach by Cintra Brown, who is now among the most respected teachers in London today.” – Stephanie Horsley, S.W.A.N. Yoga Los Angeles
“I heard that Yoga Kingdom Sanctuary had a children’s yoga class that included special needs children. The referring parent remarked in passing that I should take Naader’s class myself. An hour later I walked into YKS with my then 10-year-old daughter. My daughter started a series of wonderful classes, and I started down a path that transformed my body, my thinking, my feelings and my home life.
I had practiced yoga on and off for decades. I was also a few months out from finishing a year of extreme boot camp. So, despite being in my fifties, I felt ready for Naader’s 90 -minute curative yoga class. I quickly discovered that there were some definite gaps in my physical conditioning. Fortunately, Naader’s teaching style accommodated all levels of ability in every sequence. I worked on fundamentals in my weak areas. I worked on precision and concentration in areas where I was stronger. After 2-3 weeks people began to tell me that my face looked younger. After 2-3 months, the curve in my back was worked out. Not long after that I discovered I could drink coffee again without my feet and toes cramping. This was easily the best fitness and conditioning course I had ever taken.
However, the most meaningful aspect of the experience was listening to Naader during class. During pose holds and rest periods, Naader spoke about the higher purpose of yoga and how it worked in our everyday lives. Over time, I found myself increasingly living the qualities, among others, of love, kindness, positivity, forgiveness, and calmness. The most dramatic change was at home. Habitual bickering between my husband and myself virtually stopped. As our bickering subsided, so did the children’s bickering. Our home transformed into a place of peacefulness and harmony.
I had the privilege of studying with Naader for 18 months before our family moved to Maine. That was four years ago. Since then I have continued and expanded my study and practice of yoga. I have a much richer experience of life because of it. Our family life remains peaceful and harmonious. All members of our family try to take these qualities into the world with us. Naader and YKS played a notable role making us who we are today. I would like to express my gratitude to Naader for teaching me so much and so well.” – Carol Langworthy, Scarborough, Maine, August 2012
“Congratulations, Naader, on twelve years of beautiful service and for your lovely words below! A number of years ago I wrote a little children’s story called “The Donut Yogi”. I use to have a website for it that I let go down (while in India a couple of years ago). Anyway, a little bit of it stayed up in cyberspace and I had your yoga studio on the links and described you as a bhakti yogi, one who sees beauty and truth in all. Those words about you are still out there. I am in NYC right now so I will be unable to attend. But I honor you in spirit. Namaste,” – Sharon Lindeman, New York
“I began yoga classes with Naader when I was 49. I was not able to squat down because of an old knee injury. In three months I had healed my knee with Naader’s Curative Yoga classes, balanced my hormonal mood swings, and more importantly had found my spiritual teacher and lifetime friend. Soon I joined his Teacher Training Program, and delved into the theory and serious practice of Hatha Yoga to balance the challenges of my daily life. I teach acting at USC and AADA and have brought the tenets of focusing the mind field and mindful breath work right into my theatre and film classes. I felt so indebted to Naader for my blossoming that I offered to produce and direct his Curative Yoga series as some bit of payback. This creative collaboration deepened our mutual respect… and sense of humor. Now, my daughter, 21, is in Naader’s teacher training program and reaping the benefits. Gratefully,” – Debra De Liso
“Dear Naader- I’m so appreciative to have found your class. I really liked the Hatha workout you put together… and all the spiritual influence… and loved seeing Guru’s pictures all over the facility. Great people and great energy that you’ve created there. Congratulations.” – Tom Shell
“The first time I came to Yoga Kingdom, I could barely make it up the stairs; I was out of breath and out of shape. The first teacher I met was so incredibly kind and she promised me that she would ‘bend me back into shape’. And she did! In a matter of a few months I lost 30 pounds and I am thrilled to say that I just completed my first 10K run. But more importantly, I am experiencing a wonderful sense of balance emotionally and spiritually as well. I feel empowered, confident, flexible and strong on all fronts. Yoga Kingdom Sanctuary is an amazing place where you will find your true joy, I promise!” – Eva Brune
